Syracuse Fire Department, Syracuse Police, and Syracuse Ambulance responded to an active structure fire at a 2-story residential building located at 343 Park St, Syracuse, NY. The incident occurred on Monday, March 20th, 2023, at around 6:04 PM. The fire was reported to be in progress, and emergency services were dispatched. The fire was reported by callers who saw black smoke coming from the roof and heavy fire on the left side of the building. The building is located on Park street between Merz Ave and Grumbach Ave. The fire was reported to be on the second floor of the building. The Syracuse Fire Department arrived on the scene and worked to extinguish the fire. The Syracuse Police and Syracuse Ambulance were also present to provide assistance. The cause of the fire is currently unknown, and there is no information available on any injuries or fatalities. Tractor trailer, Westbound along the parkway struck the Railroad Bridge, Traffic is being redirected while the vehicle is being removed. Report from the scene was that the driver was not injured.

Update 3:10 PM: Both westbound lanes (towards the Village of Liverpool) remain closed and one eastbound lane (towards syracuse/I81/Destiny) is also closed. Consider taking alternate routes if possible to avoid congestion.

Update 6:40 PM: One westbound lane has reopened, crews still working to clean up the damaged truck and trailer from the right lane.

A residential electrical fire broke out on Sunday evening at 1137 Cumberland Ave. The Syracuse Fire Department responded to the call reporting flames between the wall and sink in the 2-story single-family home. The fire was quickly contained and extinguished by the firefighters.

Belgium Cold Springs Fire Department responded to an appliance fire at a single-story residence on Sixty Rd in Lysander, NY. Upon arrival, fire units reported that there was nothing showing. The incident occurred on March 19, 2023, at 8:48 PM. 

Update 9:08 PM: Problem with the water heater, no active fire.

A motor vehicle collision occurred in the Town of Onondaga on Sunday evening, resulting in possible injuries and power outages in the area. According to the Sheriffs Office, a car collided with a pole, causing the airbags to deploy. The driver has possibly left the scene, and the units on scene are reporting that the pole is sheared off. Residents in the area are advised to use caution and avoid the affected area until further notice. The power company has been notified and is working to restore power as soon as possible. We will continue to update this story as more information becomes available.

7:05 PM Update: Driver was spotted running down route 80, law enforcement is attempting to locate.

The New York State Police, Apulia Fire Department, Lafayette Fire and Fabius Fire Department are currently searching for a mother and her 7-year-old child who went missing in the area of Tinker Falls State Park. There is a possibility that they may be in the water. Reported as being in the water, possible on a tree with two dogs.

Delta Airlines Flight 1718 Slides Off Taxiway at Syracuse Airport This morning, Delta Airlines Flight 1718 slid off the taxiway at Syracuse Airport while preparing for departure to New York City's LaGuardia Airport. The incident occurred on taxiway M (Mike) and was likely caused by snowy conditions at the airport. Fortunately, there were no reports of injury. Emergency services including Airport Police and Fire, as well as ambulances from Onondaga County and NAVAC Ambulance service, responded to the scene. According to flight tracking data, the aircraft was traveling at approximately 8 to 14 MPH when it left the taxiway. Passengers on the flight were rebooked on later flights. The airport remained open and operational during the incident. Travelers are advised to check with their airlines for any potential delays or cancellations due to weather conditions.

A motor vehicle collision occurred in the Town of Clay earlier today, resulting in injuries. The incident took place at the intersection of Soule Rd and N Pine Gate Pkwy in Clay, NY at around 5:01 PM on March 10, 2023. The Sheriff's Office responded to the scene of the accident, which involved two vehicles and airbag deployment. No further details have been released at this time. 

Dewitt Police Respond to Vehicle Fire on I-481 Southbound in Syracuse, NY On March 10, 2023, at approximately 4:10 PM, the Dewitt Police Department received a report of a minor vehicle fire on I-481 Southbound between Jamesville Rd and Brighton Ave in Syracuse, NY. According to reports, a blue Subaru was involved in the vehicle fire, and police were on the scene requesting a tow truck. As a result of the incident, the right lane near the scene was closed. No injuries have been reported at this time. Motorists are advised to use caution when traveling in the area and to expect delays.

Syracuse Police Respond to Motor Vehicle Collision with Possible Injuries on I-81 South Syracuse, NY - The Syracuse Police Department responded to a motor vehicle collision with possible injuries on I-81 South near the 481 Ramp earlier today. According to reports, there have been two recent calls near this location for motor vehicle collisions with possible injuries. The collision involved 3-4 cars and has resulted in the blocking of the left lane. The New York State Department of Transportation has reported that I-81 South Bound just past Exit 16A has been closed in the left lane. At this time, it is unclear how many individuals have been injured or the extent of their injuries. Drivers are advised to avoid the area and seek alternate routes if possible.

A motor vehicle collision occurred near the Sharenet ATM on Onondaga Blvd in Geddes, NY. The Solvay Fire Department and Geddes Police were quick to respond to the scene, located on Onondaga Blvd between the intersection of Mayson Ave and Velasko Rd. Reports indicate that one person was injured in the collision and is currently being evaluated on site. The Fire Department has requested one ambulance to transport the injured individual. Further details regarding the cause of the collision and the extent of the injuries sustained have not yet been released.

Small Fire Reported at Syracuse Apartment Complex The Syracuse Fire Department, Syracuse Police, and Syracuse Ambulance responded to a small fire at the Nob Hill Apartments on Lafayette Rd in Syracuse, NY. The fire was reported in the trash shoot on the 4th floor of building 3. Residents reported smoke and a burning smell. The fire department is currently holding the scene with 2 engines and a truck, while all other responders have returned to service. The building is a multiple occupancy apartment complex. No injuries have been reported at this time.

Update 3:45 PM: Firefighters on scene reporting fire is out, dealing with smoke in the structure. 

A motor vehicle collision occurred in Pompey, NY on March 3, 2023 at 8:02 PM. Pompey Hill Fire, Tully Ambulance and Onondaga County Sheriff responded to the scene at Route 20 and Seabury Dr. The collision involved a box van that crashed into a pole, causing wires to come down.

Update 8:06: Fire Department on scene report no injuries.

A motor vehicle collision occurred in Sempronius, NY at the intersection of Chestnut Ridge Rd and Richardson Hill Rd. The Cayuga County EMS responded to the scene where they found a single vehicle had rolled over. Four patients were injured in the accident and the EMS requested assistance from Onondaga County for an additional ambulance. SAVES Ambulance in route.
