Large fight outside of Fowler High School/PSLA. SPD unit 927 was in the area for a prior miscellaneous complaint and noticed a large fight outside the school. Person did have knife (Idk why media says otherwise). 4 in custody, SPD and Syracuse City School District DPS (Security) responded. One of many major calls at SCSD schools today
This was a rekindle from the fire earlier that morning. Upon arrival crews were met with heavy smoke and fire through the roof. Of the 24 hour day, crews spent approximately 14 hours at the scene to ensure the fire was completely out and would not rekindle a second time. Crews were clear by 19:00 hours.
Person reported with rifle at Skyline. SPD arrived and found another person had jumped from a window. AMR & SFD tended to the jumper who was transported to a hospital. Officer found a broken rifle near where the person had fell and a pellet or airsoft gun was found in the complex
No active fire, Moyers Corners Fire personnel investigated a potential electrical fire on the 1st and 2nd floors. All personnel are now clear of the scene.
Box truck, traveling westbound on Onondaga Lake Parkway, struck the bridge and slid into the ditch alongside the roadway. Crews are currently working to right the truck and remove it from the roadway.
Update 12:20 PM: Police have the west bound lanes blocked while tow truck crews and NYS DOT work to recover the vehicle.
UPDATE 12:33PM: NYS-DOT NY 370 WB, Between Park St and Oswego St All lanes closed at 12:30 PM due to crash at 11:25 AM for up to 2 more hours
Report from School District is that there was a fake call to police of a shooting on campus. Students are currently in a Hold in place Drill, parents can get more information through the scrol school districts "ParentSquare" tool.
Yet another tractor trailer missing the overheight vehicle signs and struck the railroad bridge. Significant damage to the air deverter and exhaust to the tractor, the truck was hauling a flatbed trailer with steel pipe that was short enough to not be damaged by the bridge.
Syracuse Fire Department responded to a report of smoke in the hallway on the 2nd floor of James Hill Manor Apartments on James St, Syracuse, NY. The incident occurred on Sunday evening at around 6:26 PM. Firefighters arrived on the scene and quickly identified the source of the smoke, which was potentially coming from apartment 22. The firefighters reported a minor fire, which was brought under control in a timely manner.
